TABR Is Moving. . . .To The 12th Floor!

I’d say I’ve been incredibly lucky. Since 1985, I’ve had two jobs. Prudential Securities from 1985 to early 2004, and founding and running TABR with Steve Medland since 2004.

By today’s standards, I might be a dinosaur. I see LinkedIn profiles all the time with three jobs in two years, let alone two jobs in 40 years. I guess you can count on continuity with us, which I think is pretty darn important when it comes to managing people’s treasures.

However, nothing stays the same forever. But, this isn’t too radical. As of this Friday afternoon, August 22, TABR’s offices are moving for the first time in 21 years. Not far, though. Literally, we are moving from Ste 1320 in our building to Ste 1220, one floor down.  The long and short story is simply that the property manager has a new tenant who is taking over the entire 13th and 14th floors, and they have the right to relocate us within the building.  We’re on our fifth 5-year lease in the same space, and this has never happened before. . .until now.

Through these circumstances, we’re the benefactor of going into a larger space, which will now be about 2500 square feet, giving us more flexibility for the future, a larger break room and an extra office for a future TABR advisor, and we actually extended our lease by two years, so barring some unforeseen surprise, should be set for the next 6 years.

On Friday, we’ll be shutting power down around 2 pm, as we disconnect computers and the movers come in to start the process, so don’t expect to reach us unless you try our cell phones during that time.  We’ll be organizing everything over the weekend with our technology team, and set to open as usual before Monday morning.  As we get settled in coming weeks, our plan is to hold an open house so many of you can visit the new space.  Some of the offices have a direct view of Angels Stadium (not mine, though.  I still get to look at Disneyland!).
