TABR Year in the Life
Today we’re introducing a document that we call the TABR Year in the Life. We originally created this page because we came to the realization that many of our valued clients still don’t know about many of the services we offer.
In order to create our Year in the Life document, Bob, Mary, Sylvia and I first sat down to brainstorm all of the key activities that we do for our clients. We then listed all of the services we provide, who performs each action, and when they are performed. After we put all of these interactions down on paper, we organized everything by month in the following one-page document:

The page is divided into two parts: The top third of the page, entitled “On Stage”, shows the things we do that are easily visible to clients. For example, if we review your 401(k) plan investment allocation and provide you with an outline of our recommendations, you’ll likely understand what was necessary to analyze your investment options. The bottom two thirds of the page, entitled “Behind The Curtain”, shows the activities we perform that you may not be aware of. Researching investment management strategies, reviewing changes in financial planning rules, and studying for continuing education credits are all examples of these activities.
It’s important to note that the document is only an illustration of the services that we offer, and none of our clients are taking advantage of every single service that we make available. However, we hope that this will be helpful in showing you some of the areas that we can address that you may not realize. Maybe you’ve been worried about funding college for a child or grandchild and didn’t realize that we can set up and manage tax-advantaged 529 College Savings Plans. Or maybe you’re worried about a life insurance policy that you bought decades ago and have no idea what to do with it. Although we don’t sell insurance, we have expertise in evaluating policies and giving our clients objective advice regarding their insurance options, and we implement solutions through a low-cost third-party firm.
If you do see something on the list that you’d like to discuss in more detail, we are here to answer any questions you may have. Please call us at (714) 704-9180 if you’d like to discuss any of the above.
